More Transparency and Efficiency for High-Tech Drive Systems: PROXIA MES at Oberaigner

Oberaigner Powertrain GmbH is a medium-sized automotive supplier based in Upper Austria, specializing in the development and production of all-wheel drive transmissions, axle, and chassis components. The company supplies renowned automotive manufacturers with high-quality drive solutions for off-road vehicles, transporters, and specialty vehicles. With around 250 employees and a high level of vertical integration, Oberaigner manufactures numerous components entirely in-house.
Problem
High product variety and vertical integration, combined with increasing pressure on quality and delivery timelines, demanded improved collection and analysis of operational and machine data, automated quality control, and reliable transfer of the correct NC programs to the machines. Paper-based processes and manual feedback were prone to errors and inefficiencies.
Solution
Implementation of the PROXIA MES system, consisting of BDE, MDE, DNC, and quality assurance modules, including integration with SAP and the central production data management system “FactoryDIRECTOR.” The solution enabled end-to-end data collection, machine networking, automated quality processes, and digital delivery of all order-related information.
Result
Significantly increased transparency and data quality in production, precise recording of machine and setup times, automated traceability of all components, improved utilization and planning of resources, and more accurate post-calculation of unit costs. Production efficiency and on-time delivery performance were significantly enhanced.
