IoT (Internet of Things)

The Internet of Things (IoT) networks machines, sensors, devices and systems within production. It forms the technological basis for automated data collection, smart machine communication and the development of smart factory applications.
IoT makes it possible to collect, transfer and evaluate large volumes of production data in real time. This improves transparency, facilitates predictive maintenance and promotes the automation of processes. In combination with MES solutions, companies can use IoT connections to boost their efficiency and increase production flexibility.

Example:
An electronics manufacturer integrates IoT sensors into its production lines. These sensors record temperature, vibration and throughput and send the data to the MES. This information is used to detect deviations and plan maintenance with foresight in order to avoid breakdowns.
