CAQ (Computer Aided Quality)

Computer Aided Quality (CAQ) systems are specialized software solutions for supporting and automating quality management in production. They integrate quality inspections and quality assurance directly into the production processes and thus ensure consistent quality controls from goods receipt to goods issue.
The central functions include inspection planning, test equipment capability, inspection data acquisition, statistical process control (SPC), complaint management and comprehensive evaluations. With CAQ systems, sources of error can be identified at an early stage, production processes can be stabilized and standards and legal requirements (such as ISO 9001) can be reliably complied with.

Example:
A manufacturer of medical technology integrates a CAQ system into its production in order to manage inspection plans automatically and record all inspection data digitally. This enables seamless compliance with the ISO 13485 standard.
