About the Professional User Rating (PUR 2026)
For the “Professional User Rating: Engineering Solutions 2026” (PUR ES), conducted by techconsult – the analyst firm of the Heise Group – more than 4,800 application experts evaluated the solutions they use as well as the respective software providers. Around 100 providers offering software solutions for technical applications on the German-speaking market were included in the study.
The assessment was based on approximately 60 criteria across 14 sub-categories and was divided into two central areas: vendor evaluation and solution evaluation. The vendor evaluation includes factors such as innovative capability, overall portfolio, service and support, as well as pricing and procurement models. The solution evaluation considers software performance and functional scope, user-friendliness, technological maturity, solution benefits, customer satisfaction, product loyalty and likelihood of recommendation.
The 35 highest-rated providers are positioned in the so-called PUR Diamond. A prerequisite for placement is an above-average rating in both areas – both in terms of the company and its market positioning, as well as the technological quality and performance of the solution.
With more than 4,800 evaluations, PUR ES is regarded as one of the most important independent benchmarks for engineering and MES solutions in the German-speaking region.
