Das unidirektionale Protokoll dient dabei zur vertikalen Vernetzung von Werkzeugmaschinen und IT-Systemen. Wenn eine Werkzeugmaschine die Datenerfassung mittels MTConnect unterst\u00fctzt, stehen umfangreiche Informationen zur Verf\u00fcgung. Das 2008 entwickelte Protokoll stellt den Standard f\u00fcr Maschinendatenerfassung im nordamerikanischen Markt dar. Durch ein umfangreich beschriebenes Datenmodell k\u00f6nnen die Maschinendaten direkt f\u00fcr Verf\u00fcgbarkeits- und Leistungsanalysen sowie f\u00fcr Visualisierungen und Auswertungen herangezogen werden.\u00a0<\/p><p><br \/>Leider fehlt es MTConnect an den immer wichtiger werdenden Sicherheitsmechanismen zur Verschl\u00fcsselung und Absicherung des Datenflusses. Diesen Mangel macht das neue PROXIA XI-Gateway durch die Transformation der Kommunikation, hin zu OPC-UA, wett. Dadurch nutzen Anwender das Beste aus beiden Standard-Architekturen: Das standardisierte Datenmodell von Werkzeugmaschinen aus MTConnect in Verbindung mit den im Standard bereits sicheren \u00dcbertragungsm\u00f6glichkeiten von OPC-UA macht die Maschinendatenerfassung so nicht nur einfach, sondern auch sicher und
