Bridging technology for Industry 4.0

In the debate surrounding Industry 4.0, the benefits of MES are often put to the test. Whilst some claim that ERP will assume the tasks of MES in future, others say the autonomous control of “smart objects” could lead to production being controlled without MES in the future. Of course, this is not the case.

Eleven experts, including Marcus Niebecker, Product Manager at PROXIA Software AG, explained why manufacturing execution systems also have their place in this Industry 4.0 age.
