Knowledge management

Collecting and utilizing knowledge effectively in production

A central challenge is to preserve acquired knowledge within production independently of individual employees, while at the same time making it accessible to all authorized personnel. To address this demanding task, the MES solution from PROXIA offers a process extension.

The extension module addresses the three main areas of knowledge management:

Collecting knowledge

Capturing employees’ knowledge directly at the workplace. It does not matter whether the employee works in an office environment, is involved in assembly, or performs daily tasks at a machine.

Providing knowledge

The greatest challenge for many companies is to distribute knowledge according to specific needs. Instead of spreading knowledge and information indiscriminately, the system extracts the information that is relevant in the context of the task being performed and makes it available to the employees.

Preserving knowledge

Managing the collected knowledge and organizing it in relation to the products is the core task of PROXIA’s knowledge management. Whether it’s manufacturing specifications, work instructions, or tips from colleagues—everything worth knowing is stored with the various article revisions and can be adapted or expanded as needed. In this process, the knowledge is protected by PROXIA’s user rights management system.

The contributions that represent the company's knowledge are divided into thematic categories. This structure, along with the ability to tag content with custom tags, makes it easier to search for specific knowledge. Any type of document can be attached to the contributions.
