Setup time optimization refers to the targeted analysis and improvement of changeover processes in order to minimize machine downtimes and increase productivity. The measures can be of an organizational, technical or personnel nature.
MES systems and methods such as SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) help companies to systematically reduce set-up times.
